Our Story

Joe Tamel is an Emmy-nominated Jib and Camera Operator specializing in film and television. Over a 29-year career, he has worked across live broadcasts, sports, commercials, reality TV, music videos, documentaries, independent films and corporate tech productions. Clients include ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, Fox Sports, Netflix, Amazon, OWN, Disney, Showtime, and AXS.
Joe began in the lighting department before transitioning to Camera Operator, now specializing as a Jimmy Jib and remote head operator. Experienced in multi- and single-camera formats, he handles high-end productions under high-pressure live environments. Notable credits include Fox NFL, Showtime Boxing, NCIS, America's Got Talent, Top Chef, and 20+ years with the Oprah Winfrey Show/OWN. He is the owner of Apex Camera Cranes and a member of IATSE Local 600, NABET Local 53, and IBEW.
